Following the success of ePortfolio Australia in 2004, the second ePortfolio Australia conference will be held in Melbourne on 26-27 March 2007 at Storey Hall, RMIT University, Swanston St, Melbourne.

 The conference objectives are:

  • to understand the essence of ePortfolios,
  • to identify the role of ePortfolios in developing, recording and assessing 21st century literacies and skills,
  • to map ePortfolio development for lifelong learning, and across all sectors,
  • to plan future links between practitioners, researchers and industry.

21st century literacy is the set of abilities and skills where aural, visual and digital literacy overlap. ePortfolios are spaces where these can be practised, recorded, reflected upon and presented to a range of audiences.

We welcome educators in schools, TAFE and universities; researchers; policy-makers; lifelong learners; software developers, industry representatives and employers. We encourage students and teachers to prepare presentations for display at the conference. Prior to the conference, an online workshop exploring a range of associated issues will be facilitated by Dr Paul Fritze, of The University of Melbourne. Research papers will be accepted until 7 February. Other contributions can be made until 28 February.
