ePortfolio Australia 2007 Call for Contributions
Building on the success of previous events held in Melbourne in 2004 and Auckland 2005, the ePortfolio Trilogy events are designed to showcase ePortfolio research and practice in the Region and to reinforce cooperation across continents and cultures.
- ePortfolio Hong Kong 2007, 19 & 20 March - Empowering Learners for the 21st Century
- ePortfolio Australia 2007, 26 & 27 March - Imagining New Literacies, Storey Hall, RMIT University, Melbourne
- ePortfolio New Zealand 2007, 29 & 30 March - Empowering Learners for the 21st Century
Theses conferences will explore the current state of the art of ePortfolios, examine the worldwide ePortfolio movement and share current national practice and the opportunities for further development in Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and in the Region.
Key objectives of the ePortfolio events will include:
- revealing the essence of ePortfolios,
- identifying the role of ePortfolios in developing, recording and assessing 21st century literacies and skills,
- mapping ePortfolio development for lifelong learning, and across all sectors,
- planning future links between practitioners, researchers and industry.
Call for contributions for the Melbourne Conference
A - Research Papers
Research papers of up to 3000 words will be considered for blind peer review until 7 February, 2007. Completed and original research papers should be submitted electronically to the conference website. Please use the following headings:
- Title
- Abstract
- Background
- Methodology
- Findings
- Conclusions
- References
- Author and Contact information should be provided only on the first page.
30 minutes will be allowed for presentation of these papers.
B - Project reports and case studies
Project reports and case studies of up to 5 pages (including images) will be considered for publication if submitted by 28 February 2007 to the conference website.
Please use the following headings:
- Title
- Author and Contacts
- Context
- Purpose of the project
- Evidence
- Reflections and future directions
20-30 minutes will be allowed for presentation of these reports
C - Technical demonstrations
- Title
- Contacts
- Description of the purpose and functions of the technology
- Any special requirements
20-30 minutes will be allowed for demonstrations

- Your experiences of ePortfolio development in schools, TAFE, universities and workplaces, eg for transition, assessment, collaboration, employment.
- How ePortfolios support various teaching and learning philosophies and practices.
- How new literacies are incorporated in ePortfolios.
- How new literacies can be assessed.
- How ePortfolios for teachers support professional reflection and learning.
- ePortfolio policies in nations, states and organisations: current and future.
- Technical requirements for lifelong learning ePortfolios.
