Key Competencies - Skills for Life 2007

12-13 July, 2007, City University, London

We invite you to join us at the first international conference on Key Competencies: Skills for Life. The Conference is organised by EIfEL, in partnership with the National Institute for Adult Continuing Education (NIACE), England and Wales and ARTES, Italy.

The challenge of ensuring that citizens and employees are equipped with the skills and competencies needed to live and work in the 21st century has never been more urgent. Demographic trends, global competition and technological advances make it even more imperative to raise the level of skills and ensure that these are maintained in line with rapid evolutions.

This aim of this conference is to bring together representatives of education, training, industry, government and trade unions - to identify and share innovative and productive policy and practice in the domain of development of key competencies. Its aim also is to forge international links and produce action plans for ongoing collaboration and development in order to raise skills levels, increase productivity and promote social inclusion.

The context of the Conference is presented in Overview in the menu on the left.

We currently have participants from 20 countries, including Australia and Hong Kong.
