iLearning Forum 2008 Launch - Paris 4-5 February 2007

Today iLearn Forum Ltd and EIfEL (the European association for eLearning professionals) announced the launch of the third edition of iLearning Forum Paris. The exhibition and conference will take place on Monday 4th February and Tuesday 5th February 2008 at the Palais des Congrès de Paris. This show is now the largest international and European eLearning event in France and attracts learning and human resources professionals from all over Europe and worldwide - over 30 countries were represented in 2007.

Paris, 10th October 2007 - for immediate release

For 2008 the exhibition and conference will continue to grow: originally known as eLearnexpo Paris, the new name, iLearning Forum, reflects important evolutions: the need for integrated learning strategies, reaping the benefits of advanced learning technologies such as Web 2.0, virtual worlds, serious games and ePortfolios to support informal as well as formal learning for organisational development. This event has now become THE annual meeting place for Europe’s community of thinkers, researchers and decision makers involved with lifelong learning.

The partnership with EIfEL since 2006 has allowed iLearn forum to grow significantly already. Traditionally the show has focussed on enterprise learning needs in the francophone markets of Europe. Our visitors and delegates have essentially been HR and training decision-makers from the medium and large enterprise sectors, mainly in France. For the 2007 edition this core group was expanded to include delegates and visitors from the public sector in France and EC – regions, chambers of commerce, local government, ministries and education. The international conference specifically included new topics for these groups so that the conference participation grew about 40% year on year, while visitor numbers remained stable, and of consistently high calibre, as in the past.

For 2008, the call for papers continues to explore the leading edge technologies for learning in the 21st century. The five key themes for 2008 are:

•    Designing eStrategies for learning organisations, including talent management

•    Designing learning spaces with advanced learning technologies, including virtual worlds and serious games

•    Supporting lifelong learning and employability , including ePortfolio

•    Exploiting the full potential of digital identity

•    Improving quality of learning with technologies

For the 2008 edition, the organisers expect the conference to grow to over 500 delegates, with between 3500 and 5000 visitors to the exhibition. The exhibition will feature a Cyber café, a press lounge, a VIP lounge and a live presentation and demonstrations area with free access for visitors.
