Sponsored by GB Training and run in association with the British Institute of Learning & Development (BILD), the World of Learning is now in its sixteenth year and is the essential event for learning and development professionals, as well as those responsible for personnel and HR within their companies.

World of Learning 2008 will include:

  • A world-class conference programme featuring leading international speakers and innovative high profile case studies
  • Invaluable features including free seminars, interactive workshops and product demonstrations
  • More than 140 major industry companies demonstrating the latest products and solutions launched for the learning and development market
  • The prestigious World of Learning Awards, the UK’s premier event for honouring learning-specific solutions

Thousands of visitors will attend this comprehensive event, which will feature a wide selection of learning and development solutions ranging from instructor-led training, coaching, blended solutions, training venues and management development to e-learning, distance learning, learning software and HR/learning management systems.

The major feature of the World of Learning is the high level conference, which will discuss the key issues facing learning and development professionals today and the effective implementation of solutions. The conference will include a range of high profile case studies that will provide a valuable insight into how to put these ideas into practice.

This year the conference will, in particular, look at innovation in the changing world of the learning and development professional and the latest approaches to traditional methods of learning, as well as coaching and mentoring.

The exhibition will include a variety of free educational seminars where visitors can learn about the latest innovations and best practice. The Experiential Learning Zone, the Conference Centres of Excellence (CCE) Pavilion, the Serious Games Village and product demonstrations throughout the event will all provide visitors with the opportunity to see and experience for themselves the latest learning solutions.

Leading industry companies already confirmed as exhibitors at World of Learning 2008 include Academee, Assima, Atlantic Link, Cotswold Conference Centre, Crown House Publishing, e2train, Edvantage Group, GB Training, LM Matters, Manchester United, Mohive, Questionmark Computing, Revelation Training, Scott Bradbury and Speakfirst.

In addition, the highlight of the learning industry’s year, the prestigious World of Learning Awards, which recognise the highest standards of achievement within the industry, will be presented during a black-tie dinner on 19 November 2008 at the Paragon Hotel in Birmingham.

Andrew Gee, Senior Project Manager for the World of Learning, said, “The World of Learning, during its sixteen year history, has continually grown and transformed with the industry, responding to not only economic and market forces but also technological and cultural developments in learning. The event has become in recent years a true blend of all aspects of learning and training in order to fulfil all the needs of our visitors and the market in general.

“The combination of our high quality conference and educational features with a wide range of exhibitors ensures that World of Learning remains the most time and cost effective method of keeping up to date with the market and sourcing new suppliers.”
