iLearning Forum 2009, Paris 19-20 January 2009 - Call for Contributions

The next iLearning Forum International Conference and Exhibition  will take place at the Palais des Congrès, Paris on 19-20 January 2009.

1 Event, 2 Conferences! - iLearning Forum and RAC

The theme of this year's iLearning Forum is 'Integrated learning: embedding learning technologies for individual and organisational development'. Join international learning professional colleagues to encounter and explore state of the art practice in the use of technology for education and the development and management of human resources.

This year's event will be enriched by a parallel event, the first francophone and international conference on the recognition and validation of achievement and competencies, in cooperation with the organisers of the major Montreal conference on the same theme (RAC 2006 and RAC 2008).

iLearning call for contributions deadline extended

Contributions in English and French are invited for iLearning Forum. The deadline for receipt of abstracts (min 500, max 750 words) is 15 October. Proposals are welcomed for work in progress, case-studies, workshops or research papers.

iLearning Forum Conference themes are:

• Integrated learning for employability, social inclusion and active citizenship
• Learning innovation and futures
• Architectures and infrastructures for integrated learning
• Integrating learning with quality management

Access to the exhibition as well as the Open Forum, where visitors are invited to explore real life case studies and demonstrations, is free. Pre-registration is recommended for quick and easy access to the event.

Enter for the iLearning Awards!

The objective of the iLearning Awards is to celebrate the achievements of organisations who have demonstrated a clear vision of learning as a process embedded in every moment and activity of an organisation’s life. The iLearning Awards recognise organisations for which learning is not a series of discrete events but a continuous process, involving individual and organisational learning, formal and informal learning. Learning is life! summarises the vision of ilearning.

Each Award celebrates a particular aspect of integrated learning. You can submit under the following categories:

• iLearning organisation
• iLearning provider
• iLearning futures
• ilearning quality
• iLearning access

Submit your entry by 15 December.

RAC 2009, Paris 19-20 January 2009

RAC 2009 call for contributions now open

Contributions in English and French are invited for RAC. The deadline for receipt of abstracts (min 500, max 750 words) is 15 October. Proposals are welcomed for work in progress, case-studies, workshops or research papers.

1. Formal vs informal recognition of learning achievements. The objective of this theme is to explore the range and diversity of recognition processes between informal and formal recognition.
2. Recognition of learning achievements across cultures and countries. The objective of this track is to explore the methods and tools to facilitate recognition of competencies and qualifications.
3. Recognition of competencies and innovation. The objective of this track is to explore how it is possible to identify and recognise emerging competencies -- a large percentage of the jobs in 10 years time might require competencies that do not even have a name today!
4. Quality control of learning achievements certification processes. The objective of this track is to explore the methods to ensure that formal systems of recognition provide consistant outcomes across a range of providers.
