Key Competencies – Skills for Life 2008

The programme for the 2^nd international conference on Key Competencies-Skills for Life, London 19-20 June 2008 is now online. The event is organised in partnership with NIACE and Avallain.

Key conference themes for 2008:

• Intercultural skills and dialogue (2008 is the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue)
• Employability skills
• Promoting key competencies for social inclusion
• Assessment and recognition of key competencies – when and how?
• Developing key competencies with ePortfolios
• Professional development for key competencies facilitators
• Media literacy
• Embedding ICT in literacy and numeracy teaching

The event features top-level plenary presentations, an open forum a series of workshops and parallel presentations.

ePortfolio & Digital Identity - Call for Contributions extended

The Call for Contributions for ePortfolio 2008 has been extended to 23 June.

This year's conference challenge is "breaking boundaries for human capital development and social innovation." The objective is to explore how digital technologies, and in particular ePortfolios and digital identities, are transforming individual and organisational learning and development.

Meet EIfEL in London & Paris

Members and all those interested in joining the Institute are warmly invited to learn about our current and future activities and how individuals and organisations can benefit - over a glass of wine. The first meeting will be in London at City University on 18 June and Paris on 30 June (times and venue to be confirmed).

HealthFolio group meeting - Paris 7-8 July 2008

Healthfolio, the ePortfolio & Digital Identity Healthcare group will meet for 2 days in Paris 7-8 July 2008. This meeting is organised in partnership with Université Paris Descartes, under the presidency of Patrick Berche, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

The first day of the meeting will be in French, the second in English. You can join HealthFolio and register to the working group meeting at: http://healthfolio.ning.com/

Special Issue on ePortfolio and Digital Identity of the Canadian Journal of Learning and Technology

Authors are invited to submit contributions the Canadian Journal of Learning and Technology (CJLT) for a special issue on ePortfolio and digital identity.

Manuscripts must be submitted to the Special Issue Editors by July 1, 2008 following the manuscript guidelines set by the journal.

Manuscripts should be accompanied by a letter stating that the manuscript is original material that has not been published and is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere, with the exception of the contributions to the events organised by EIfEL, i.e. ePortfolio & Digital Identity Montréal  and ePortfolio & Digital Identity Maastricht 2008.

ICL2008 ePortfolio in Engineering Track - Call for Papers

The 11th International Conference "Interactive Computer aided Learning"  ICL2008  from September 24 -26, 2008 in Villach, Austria, has a Special Session on "E-Portfolios" with a special focus on engineering  education and engineering continuing professional development.

This Special Session is organised in cooperation with EIfEL in preparation for the  Maastricht ePortfolio international conference ePortfolio & Digital Identity 2008, Maastricht 22-24 October 2008

iLearning Forum 2009, 19-20 Janvier, Paris

La prochaine édition de la conférence et de l'exposition internationale iLearning Forum prendra place au Palais des Congrès de Paris les 19 et 20 janvier 2009. Suite au succès de l'édition 2008 la surface d'exposition est doublée. Par ailleurs, en parallèle avec iLearning Forum se tiendra la première conférence francophone et internationale sur la reconnaissance des acquis et des compétences en coopération avec les organisateurs de la conférence de Montréal sur le même thème (RAC 2006 et RAC 2008).
